Blooming Art Exhibit Celebrates Spring’s Arrival

BY DOLORES MULLER

Spring arrives in the Carolinas on March 19th and the Garden Club of the Sandhills is getting ready for the spring flowering season. Members of this club are sponsoring an exhibit titled “Blooming Art,” at the Campbell House Gallery in Southern Pines on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday March 29th. The inspiration for this exhibit came from the very popular annual North Carolina Museum of Art exhibit Art in Bloom which is celebrating its fifth year.

The local “Blooming Art” exhibit is a festival of art and flowers that will feature area floral designers as well as local garden club members. Each will choose a painting or object d’ art and create a floral arrangement interpreting the art work. Proceeds from the exhibit will benefit local horticultural projects. The exhibit is from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, March 28th and on Sunday March 29th from 12 to 4pm. The Campbell House Gallery is located at 482 Connecticut Avenue in Southern Pines. Event tickets are $10 and are available through ticketmesandhills.com. Proceeds benefit local community horticultural projects. For additional information: 843-992-1891

We invite everyone to come and enjoy the wonderful talents of our local artists and floral designers and feel a touch of spring.Type your paragraph here.
